7 Natural DIY Beauty Treatments You Can Make With Fruit

1) Pomegranate Exfoliating Scrub: 

This DIY Pomegranate Exfoliating Scrub recipe helps remove dead skin cells for smooth, soft skin. Pomegranate is a natural antioxidant that is loaded with Vitamin C. The seeds contain high levels of anti-aging compounds. 

Pomegranate Scrub Recipe:

  • 2 Tablespoons Pomegranate Seeds
  • 1 Cup Uncooked Oatmeal
  • 2 Tablespoons Honey
  • 2 Tablespoons Buttermilk
  • 3/4 cup Turbinado Sugar

Directions:
  1. Mix pomegranate seeds and uncooked oatmeal. You can use a glass bowl and spatula or a food processor.
  2. Then add in 2 Tablespoons honey and 2 Tablespoons buttermilk.
  3. Stir in ¾ cup turbinado sugar.
  4. Apply the mixture to the face while massaging in an upward motion. Let sit for a few minutes then rinse with tepid water. 

2) Strawberry Face Mask: 

Strawberries are full of Vitamin C, which is a natural anti-aging compound. They also protect your skin from environmental stress. Of course, eating them helps your anti-aging efforts, but you can double the effect by trying this strawberry face mask, to help fight free radicals, which can damage skin cells and break down collagen.

Strawberry Facial Mask Ingredients:

1 Cup Strawberries or 1 Cup of Strawberry, Raspberry and Blueberry Mix
1 Cup Yogurt, Vanilla or Plain
1 1/2 Tablespoons Honey diluted in 8 oz of water
 
Directions:
  1. Blend the strawberries or strawberry mixture in a food processor. Berries may be fresh, or if it's winter, frozen will work too. 
  2. Add 1 cup of yogurt. Stir.
  3. Then, pour in the honey and water. Pulse until blended.
  4. Apply as a facial mask one to two times a week. 

3) Yogurt Face Mask:

Did you know that plain Greek yogurt is a great skin smoother and purifier? Yogurt contains lactic acid. Lactic acid is an all-natural that helps slough off the outer layer of skin. It acts as a chemical peel and diminishes the look of discolorations, reduces fine lines and wrinkles plus minimizes blemishes.

Directions:
  1. Take 1 cup of Greek yogurt and blend with 2 to 3 drops of almond oil. You can substitute olive oil if necessary. Add one tablespoon honey. Stir until combined.
  2. Apply the mixture to your face.
  3. Leave on for 20 to 30 minutes.
  4. Rinse and pat dry.

4) Green Grape Fine Line and Crows Feet Reducer: 

Grapes contain natural oils and fruit acids that can help to tighten the skin, reducing the appearance of fine lines over time.

Directions:
  1. Take a handful of grapes and squish to obtain the juice.
  2. Using a cotton ball, apply the grape juice to fine lines and crows feet on your face.
  3. After 5 to 10 minutes, rinse with tepid water.
  4. Repeat this 2-3 times per week for the best results.

  1. Take a bowl and put all the dry ingredients into it. Mix them well until a homogeneous mixture without lumps is formed.

  4. Leave for 15-20 minutes, and rinse it off with warm water.

4. Baking Soda Face Mask

Baking soda, an all-purpose powder that most people already have in their kitchens, can be a significant facemask ingredient that keeps your oil glands and acne calm. Ingredients

  • Fresh Lemon: 1/2 a lemon (or Lemon juice: 1 teaspoon)
  • Baking Soda: 1 or 2 tablespoons

Directions

  1. Take a small mixing bowl and add baking soda, honey and lemon juice to it.
  2. Mix everything until a paste is made. If the mixture isn't thick enough, just add a little more baking soda. 
  3. Wash off your face with your regular cleanser to get rid of all the residual makeup, debris, and dirt. Pat it dry with a soft towel.
  4. Apply the paste all over your face and leave it for 5-15 minutes.
  5. Take a warm washcloth and gently wipe off your face mask.
  6. Then rinse with cold water. The cold water helps your pores close and look smaller. 
  7. Optional: Moisturize your skin with coconut oil, and enjoy smooth, shiny glow!

5. Avocado Face Mask

Ingredients

  • Soft avocado: Half
  • Hot water: 2 tablespoons
  • Honey: 1 teaspoon

Directions

  1. Mash half an avocado in a mixer (or in a bowl using a fork is you don't have a mixer).
  2. Add the honey to the hot water and mix it well.
  3. Add the honey/water mixture to the mashed avocado and mix it until a smooth paste is created. 
  4. Apply the mask with your fingers and let sit about 10 minutes.
  5. Rinse it off with warm water.

One of my favorite things to do is create custom fruit masks with organic fruits. Making custom skincare is so easy and fun to do. Whether you are looking for a facemask that provides moisture, reduces the appearance of wrinkles or tightens up the jawline, making a homemade facial mask is so easy.  Just a few minutes in the kitchen and you will have a fantastic, all-natural mask made with organic fruit and excellent anti-aging ingredients.
