Anti-Aging At Home Facial

Anti-Aging At Home Facial Spa Day

We all need some “me time” to sit back and relax. What better way to get in some serious relaxation time than with a facial? Let’s face it—spas can be pretty expensive, and facials aren’t cheap. But you don’t have to break the bank to get your skin some much-needed maintenance. You can give yourself a facial right from home! You deserve the royal treatment. We want you and your skin to feel beautiful without having to leave the comfort of your home.

Benefits of a Facial:

Facials have many advantages. They help cleanse and rejuvenate your skin for a radiant complexion. They help smooth and hydrate skin to fend off signs of aging like fine lines and wrinkles. They clarify the skin to remove grime and excess oils that are clogging up your pores, causing breakouts. They stimulate the skin to help it remain healthy and beautiful. And, of course, they are incredibly relaxing.

Here’s what you need:

The Facial:

Set aside some time for yourself and find a relaxing area to begin your facial. Get rid of any interruptions to allow yourself to relax completely.

Spa time at-home

Step 1: Start by wrapping steamed towels around your face; this helps open up your pores to prep your skin for the facial and allow your skin to absorb the hydration from the steam. Most people don’t have a towel steamer lying around in their home, but you can quickly make steamed towels by rolling them up, drenching them in hot water, ringing them out entirely, and then microwaving them for 30 seconds. Once you have your steamed towels ready, lie down and drape them over your entire face (but make sure you leave a space to breathe!). Leave them until they have cooled off.

Step 2: Once you have removed the towels, wash your face with a natural cleanser. If you don’t have a good facial wash, you can find one in our store's facial care. Make sure to wash and rinse the skin thoroughly to remove all makeup and dirt.

Step 3: Tone the skin with a natural toner, like one of the ones found in the toner section of our store. Saturate a cotton ball with the toner and rub it all over.

Step 4: Exfoliation is a vital part of the facial process. Exfoliating helps hydrate, remove dead skin cells, and fight off the signs of aging for a beautiful, bright complexion. You can use a gentle exfoliator or more heavy-duty ones. You can find many types of exfoliators in our store. If you are looking for intense exfoliation, try our Skin Polish Microdermabrasion. Microderm is an excellent treatment for your skin and can work wonders on dull complexions, providing instant brightening. If you don’t have an exfoliator to use, try mixing some white sugar and olive or coconut oil for natural exfoliation.

Step 5: Use a facial mask to cover your skin. Masks give you a moment to relax and enjoy a drink while it works to remove impurities from your skin. Depending on the mask you choose, it can provide different benefits for you. Try one of our anti-aging masks to help keep your skin looking youthful! If you don’t have a mask, try one of these recipes to create one from ingredients found in your kitchen. Leave the mask on for a few minutes or until dry. Rinse off the mask thoroughly.

Step 6: Use an anti-aging moisturizer or facial oil to massage the face for ultimate hydration with added anti-aging benefits. Don’t know how to give a facial massage? No problem. Here are some basic maneuvers for you to try:

  • Effleurage: This is a very light movement with no pressure. Use your fingers or the palms of your hands and gently move from the jawline to the forehead.
  • Petrissage: This movement adds a little pressure by kneading or light pinching with the thumb and index finger. Start at the top of your hairline and move down your forehead, applying gentle pressure with your thumbs as you go. You can use the heel of your hand to massage the forehead as well lightly. Now, use two fingers to press the temples gently. Then move to the nose. Stroke down the nose with your thumbs and move around to the tip of the nose. Repeat a few times. Use your thumbs or fingers to gently massage across the cheeks and cheekbones down to the chin applying the right gentle pressure. Use thumbs to create circular movements around the mouth. Finally, use light pinching motions with your thumb and index fingers along the jawline and cheeks.
  • Tapotement: This is a short, fast tapping movement. Use the tips of your finger to make light, rapid tapping movements across the entire face. This massage technique is incredibly stimulating for the skin and can help tone facial muscles for younger-looking skin.

Use these tips to give yourself incredible relaxation time while improving the health of your skin. Keep your skin looking young and beautiful, all without going out for costly services.
