6 Reasons Why Sleeping In Your Makeup Is A Major Beauty Sin

As much as you adore your makeup and cosmetics products, they do not love you back. Your non-organic or natural makeup and cosmetics usually contain a plethora of repulsive, toxic chemicals that can cause severe, long-term damage to your skin cells. Your everyday routine that involves deodorant, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, foundation, eye shadow, mascara, lipstick, blush, nail polish, and powder makes it likely that you ingest more than 200 chemicals.

Even though the FDA has debarred some chemicals from being utilized in makeup, they lack essential resources that can enable them to formulate more strict regulations to control what can and can’t be used. It might be informative to understand that sleeping in eye makeup can actually take away a lot from your eyes’ beauty. What can you do?
Let’s assume you fell asleep without taking your makeup off, accidentally. There are still some ways to ease the pain next morning and protect your skin:
  • First and foremost, cleanse your skin thoroughly. Steam your skin or take a hot bath to open your pores before cleansing.
  • Do not forget to tone and moisturize your skin, since leaving makeup on your skin overnight causes skin dehydration.
  • For people who have been careless with your skin for a very long time, a chemical peel can be a good option.
  • Apply acne medication if you see any breakouts. (if directed to by your dermatologist after natural methods have failed)
I must note that whether you are using traditional makeup & cosmetics or you have switched to organic & natural makeup and cosmetics, the points above are still valid. The whole point is that if you want to keep your skin healthy, radiant and youthful than sleeping in your cosmetics and makeup is counterproductive. Try to make sure that you have at least 1-2 days where you go bare to let your face recuperate and breathe.
