Today's Aromatherapy in Skin Care

Today's Aromatherapy in Skin Care

Today's Aromatherapy in skincare is a powerful tool that can elevate your mood, improve your outlook, and even calm you down after having a long, stressful day.

The scents are so powerful and amazing. Think about this, when you smell apples and cinnamon, does it remind you of grandma making Apple Pie? Or does the smell of the fresh rain after a storm remind you of a day when you wrapped up in a warm blanket? Or you walk into the store and smell the fresh bread baking and remember a particular time? Scents and aromas can trigger memories. Our brain recognizes scents. It reminds us to slow down and enjoy the moment. Aromatherapy has been used throughout time with proven therapeutic benefits.

Essential oils are a natural alternative to fragrances that contain synthetic chemicals. Perfumes can contain petrochemicals, parabens, and phthalates. Fragrances have been linked to many ingredients that cause allergic reactions and hormone disruption. For a refreshing and more natural approach, try essential oils.

How are essential oils made?

Anti-Age Essential Oil Blends

100% pure, natural oils are extracted from fruits, flowers, peels, blossoms, leaves, stems, wood, and seeds. Essential oils are usually steam distilled. Some are crushed. The oil is expressed. The peels from citrus fruits like bergamot, orange, lemon, grapefruit are typically expressed. The oils may also be extracted with a solvent. Flower petals are a good example. Others may be extracted with CO2.

Essential oils can range from a liquid like water to a thicker, sticky solution. Most essential oils are best stored at room temperature in a tinted glass bottle to avoid deterioration from light.

Uses for Aromatherapy There are so many ways to use aromatherapy. From a quick pick me up to skincare to scenting in your home, essential oils are beneficial to our well-being. They help us relax and act as a natural remedy for many ailments.

  • Home Spray.
  • Bath.
  • Massage.

How to scent your home:

You can diffuse them in the house in a warm burner. Or even use a stainless steel ring on a light bulb. Just place a few drops in the ring and turn the light on. The scent will fill the room.

Natural remedies for mature skin aging: Here is a recipe for a regenerative treatment for mature skin. The facial oils used are for dry complexions. If you have normal, oily, or combination skin, replace the Argan oil with Tamanu.
