When used at a 4% concentration, the Leucidal® Complete will make approximately 375ml or a 12.5-ounce batch.
The 4-ounce size would make 200 ounces with a 2% concentration. At a 4% concentration, it would create approximately a 100-ounce batch.
The 16-ounce white jug is large enough to make about 800 ounces with a 2% concentration. At a 4% concentration, it would produce approximately a 400-ounce batch.

Lotion Making Tips
- Add a 2-4% concentration of Leucidal Complete to your DIY cosmetic and skincare formulations. Blend until well mixed.
- Leucidal Complete may be hazy. To reduce haze, heat the Leucidal Complete to 95-104°F and add it to the formula while Leucidal Complete is fully liquid.
- Leucidal Complete protects from bacteria, yeast, and mold, but formulas should be safety tested.
- For oil-based formulas, try Leucidal Liquid.
- Use Leucidal Max Lactobacillus Ferment for an all-natural preservative alternative.
When finished, store in a cool, dry place.

Is this good to use with body butter?
Yes, any product that can come into contact with water or fingers should use a broad-spectrum antimicrobial like Leucidal Complete.

My Leucidal Complete arrived solid due to the cold weather. When I place it in a water bath it is still chunky. How do I use it now?
Great questions! Leucidal Complete can be very finicky with colder temperatures. First, make sure that the water bath is above 95 degrees. For the best results, we recommend 104 degrees. You can also use the microwave at 15-30 second intervals until completely liquid. Once the solution is back to a complete liquid, it can then be added toward the end of the formulation. Add at 40 degrees celsius and mix until homogeneous.

My formula is hazy after adding. Is there any way to make it clear?
You can also improve the clarity of your formula by using a stabilizing agent. Using a 2% concentration of Sodium Citrate or Sodium Chloride with .5% Xanthum Gum.

Are there any ingredients that Leucidal Complete is not compatible with?
Leucidal Complete can be incompatible with highly anionic ingredients including many carbomers. The thickeners that are recommended are Hyaluronic Acid and Xanthan Gum.

I recently started using your Leucidal Complete (I’m in my 2nd purchase now). I was wondering, does it need to be refrigerated after opening? For my 1st purchase, I did place it in the fridge after opening, sure it clumps up, but I just let it thaw out when I’m ready to use it. I have no problem with that. However, if it does not require refrigeration, I’d like to know so then I know I can safely leave it in the pantry? Thanks in anticipation of your response & keep up the good work. It took me a lot of research to find the right product for me & understand how they vary & work. I love your product.
No, you should not store Leucidal Complete in the fridge. Instead, store at room temperature, as the label states. If Leucidal Complete is too cold before use, it can clump, crystallize, or become solid. This doesn’t affect the product. However, you will need to use a warm water bath to solidify Leucidal Complete before using it in your formulations.
Never freeze Leucidal Complete or any Leucidal product. -
The drop-down menu for 4 oz says $16 and when I click on it it changes to 24.95...why?
The base price for the .5 ounce Leucidal Complete is $8.95. When you choose a larger, 4-ounce size, the price is an additional $16.00, for a total of $24.95. The shopping cart adds a larger size to the base price. This way, we can offer multiple sizes.

Does this have a scent?
There is a very faint scent. It should not change the scent of your final product.

We have a few products in development. 1 being a rose water toner. Seeing the rose water is clear, is it better to use the Leucidal Liquid to avoid possible haziness, or is it still best recommended to use the stronger antimicrobial Leucidal Complete? Thank you
Yes, you are correct. If you are an advanced formulator creating skincare products, you can easily use a 2-4% Leucidal Liquid in your formulations. However, we do not recommend this for beginners.
Leucidal Liquid is the easiest product to use in terms of creating clear toners. However, remember that all Leucidal products can be potentially incompatible with highly anionic ingredients (some thickeners). Therefore, monitor and test all components for compatibility in your formula- not just one ingredient.
Always test the compatibility of your ingredients before making an entire batch! We suggest using a small amount of Rose Water and adding the Leucidal Liquid to the formula at a .5% concentration. Monitor the recipe; if it stays clear, continue adding small amounts until you reach the desired concentration.
If the recipe is cloudy or you see haziness, consider using a solubilizing agent to improve clarity.
We would also recommend using Leucidal Liquid with an additional preservative to protect your water-based formula fully. -
My product crystallized. Can I heat it up?
Please read all instructions included in the Product Brochure and Instructional Guide.
When Leucidal Complete gets cold it can crystallize or become solid. This is prevalent in the fall and winter months due to cooler temperatures.
It should be added to your formulation at 95 -104 degrees. You should not use the product in your formulation unless it is a complete liquid.
To heat up and liquefy Leucidal Complete, use a double boiler or microwave at 30 seconds to 1-minute intervals, we have found that 2-3 minutes is all that is needed.
If you are using the smaller, .5 ounce glass bottle, you can simply run it under hot water until liquid. -
What is the useable PH range?
The Ph of Leucidal® Complete is 7.0-10.00. It has been shown to be heat stable up to 158 degrees in products with a PH of 3-8.

How long is the shelf life with this added?
To get an accurate shelf-life, you will need to have your formula tested in a lab. Leucidal Complete can protect your formula for approximately 12 months, but that will vary depending on the formula.

If my product needs to be refrigerated without the preservatives, will it need to be when it is added in?
No, the finished product can remain at room temperature.
