How To Make Your Own Organic Beauty Treatments Using Milk

Are you aware that milk is an amazing skin care ingredient? That's right; this ancient beauty secret is rich in AHA’s (alpha hydroxy acids), which promote exfoliation. Lactic acid, a natural skin exfoliant, and milk is a fantastic anti-inflammatory. Milk also consists of high levels of Vitamin A, D, and E. So seeing as this wonder ingredient is probably sitting in your fridge already why don't give a few of these recipes a whirl:

Milk Gentle Cleanser

This gentle Oatmeal Cleanser is a good alternative to harsh soap. DIY oatmeal cleanser

1 Cup Whole Organic Milk or Soymilk
1⁄2 Cup Whole Organic Oats
1 Tablespoon Organic Honey

Mix all ingredient for at least 2 minutes. The mixture should have a creamy consistency. Then, with a funnel, pour the mixture into any air-tight container. Store in the refrigerator.
To use: Place a small amount in the palm of your hand, then gently massage into your skin. Use cool water to rinse and pat dry.

Milk And Honey Bath Soak

2 cups of organic milk
2 tbsp of organic honey

Pour both milk and honey into a warm bath before stepping into the water.
Soak for at least 20 minutes. Enjoy!

Milk and Honey Facial Scrub 

3 Tbsp organic milk (choose whole milk for drier skin)
3 Tbsp organic honey
1 Teaspoon raw organic oatmeal, crumbled

Blend the ingredients for about 2 minutes. A thick paste should form.
Next, massage a small amount on a freshly washed face for about a minute. Rinse with tepid water and dab dry.
Nail Strengthener
1 cup organic milk
microwave safe bowl.

Place the milk in the bowl and heat it on high for 30 seconds in your microwave. Make sure that it does not boil/burn (you'll notice a funky smell). It should smell sweet and be warm to the touch.
After washing your hands, dry them off with a towel and place your fingers/hands in the bowl of milk.
Leave them there for 5 minutes.
After your finished, your nails will be stronger, look beautiful and glossy, and your hands will be softer.
Milk Makeup Remover
Almond Oil
Whole organic milk

In a glass vessel, add a few drops of almond oil. With a cotton ball, apply to the face. Remove with a fresh cotton ball. Then rinse your face with lukewarm water.
