Ask a Question
  • On your website, you sell phospholipids and this can aid in penetration of the peptides. Does a penetration enhancing substance have to be in a serum or cream to have the peptides penetrate? I mix my own serums and creams with a few of your peptides and I do not have any glycols or phospholipids or any penetration enhancing ingredients in what I mix, so I am not sure if any of the peptides are penetrating or just sitting atop the skin.

No, you do not need to add a penetration enhancing substance for the peptides to be effective. However, we do recommend adding one. Our two favorites are Hyaluronic Acid and phospholipids. Either one works great.

  • So one would use this in the amounts listed in accordance with your Quick Guide Chart?

Yes, please refer to the chart for the amount needed. You will need to determine the amount of your base and what concentration you will need, then the chart will tell you how many drops to add.

  • what is your processing time for orders/.

Typically, we get all orders out within 1 business day.

  • Are the soybeans used GMO?

Our formulations only contain Non-GMO soybeans.

  • Is this phosphatidylcholine? Can it be added to water based peptide serums?

The Phospholipid Liposome Serum Booster is from plant-based glycine max (soybean). It is not phosphatidylcholine. Yes, it can be added to water-based peptide serums.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the benefits of liposomal phospholipids?
Liposomal phospholipids improve delivery of water-soluble actives, support skin barrier function, and boost hydration. They encapsulate peptides and antioxidants in phospholipid bilayers that protect sensitive ingredients from oxidation and allow deeper transport into the epidermis and upper dermis. Liposomes also form a lightweight, skin-compatible barrier that reduces transdermal water loss and increases surface conditioning, and they are commonly used at 1 to 10 percent in DIY serums to balance efficacy and texture. This benefit profile is especially useful for ingredient‑savvy users formulating peptide serums or antioxidant boosters who want measurable delivery gains. One limitation is that liposomes are a delivery system, not a primary anti-aging active, and their performance depends on particle size and overall formulation stability.
What does liposomal serum do?
A liposomal serum acts primarily as a delivery vehicle that carries and stabilizes water-soluble actives and peptides, improving their penetration and effectiveness. Encapsulation in phospholipid liposomes shields fragile actives from degradation, enables better uptake into the epidermis by fusing with skin lipid layers, and helps retain moisture by reducing transepidermal water loss. In practice, formulators add liquid phospholipid liposomes at roughly 1 to 10 percent of a serum formula to enhance active performance and feel. This makes liposomal serums valuable for people using concentrated peptides or antioxidants who need reliable transport into skin. Note that the serum’s final performance varies with liposome size, concentration, and the rest of the formula.
What do liposomes do for the skin?
Liposomes deliver actives deeper into the skin, improve hydration, and protect sensitive ingredients during formulation and application. Their phospholipid bilayers mimic skin cell membranes, which helps them merge with the stratum corneum and transport encapsulated molecules into the epidermis and sometimes the upper dermis. They also reduce transdermal water loss and increase surface conditioning, which supports plumper, more hydrated skin when paired with humectants or peptides. DIY formulators and users targeting wrinkles or loss of firmness benefit most when liposomes are included at recommended usage rates of around 1 to 10 percent. Keep in mind that not all liposome preparations are identical; particle size, lipid composition, and formulation compatibility determine actual delivery and stability.
Can I use Skin Perfection's Phospholipid Liposomes to boost the effectiveness of my DIY peptide serums?
Yes, Skin Perfection's Phospholipid Liposomes are specifically designed to enhance the delivery and potency of your DIY peptide serums. By adding 1–10% of these liposomes to your homemade formulas, the encapsulated phospholipids help transport active anti-aging ingredients, like Matrixyl 3000 or Argireline, deeper into the skin for improved absorption and faster visible results. This makes them especially valuable for women ages 35–65 seeking to maximize the clinical strength of their customized treatments without fillers or parabens. Since our liposomes are always paraben-free and compatible with a wide variety of serums and creams, they’re ideal for ingredient-savvy users who want professional-grade results at home. Note that while liposomes can significantly increase efficacy, for very sensitive skin, it’s best to patch test new blends before full usage.
Can Skin Perfection's Phospholipid Liposomes help increase the absorption of other active ingredients in my skincare routine?
Yes, Skin Perfection's Phospholipid Liposomes are specifically formulated to enhance the absorption of active ingredients in your skincare routine. Their unique liposomal structure, made from biocompatible phospholipids, encapsulates ingredients and delivers them deeper into the skin layers compared to regular topical products. Clinical research shows liposomes can improve ingredient penetration by up to 30% versus standard delivery methods. This booster is ideal for ingredient-savvy women looking to maximize the potency of DIY anti-aging serums or clinical-strength peptides like Matrixyl and Argireline. For best results, use within the recommended 1-10% rate to avoid destabilizing your formulas. If you’re seeking intensive hydration or have sensitive skin, liposomes may also help reduce irritation by controlling the release of more concentrated actives.
