Why these two get paired
They do different jobs, and the jobs happen to fit together.
Matrixyl 3000 is an amino acid complex of palmitoyl tripeptide-1 and palmitoyl tetrapeptide-7. It is water-soluble and supplied as a gel, so it needs a water-based carrier to blend into.
Hyaluronic acid holds a great deal of water relative to its weight, which is what gives it that plumping, cushioned feel on the skin. It is also water-based, oil-free, and fragrance-free in its pure form.
So hyaluronic acid gives you a base that mixes cleanly, spreads evenly, and brings its own visible benefit. That is the entire reason it is the default pairing rather than, say, a facial oil, which Matrixyl 3000 will not incorporate into at all.
How to blend them
- Start with a hyaluronic acid serum as your base.
- Add Matrixyl 3000 Serum Booster at 3 to 8 percent. At about 20 drops per millilitre, 5 percent into a 1 oz base is roughly 30 drops; 8 percent is roughly 47.
- Cap and shake well.
- Refrigerate.
- Apply to a clean, dry face and neck, morning and night. Moisturiser over the top, sunscreen in the morning.

A note on pure hyaluronic acid
Hyaluronic acid occurs naturally in skin, and in its pure form it is unlikely to irritate. Some blended versions carry fragrance, parabens, or other additives that can bother sensitive skin. Ours is pure, fragrance-free, and paraben-free, which is also what makes it a clean base to build on.
