Matrixyl 3000 Serum Booster is the raw peptide complex, undiluted, in a blue glass dropper. You blend it into your own base at 3 to 8 percent. Nothing is added to stretch it and nothing is hidden — the full INCI is printed below.

That is the complete list. Palmitoyl Tripeptide-1 was called Palmitoyl Oligopeptide until the INCI name changed in 2016 — if you see the old name on another label, it is the same thing.

How much to add

Count the drops. It is the quickest way to do this at home and it is how most people blend our boosters. Grams are there too, for anyone who wants to reproduce a formula exactly or scale a batch up.

Above 8 percent you are mostly adding glycerin and water to your base, and thinning everything else in it. Stay in the range.

How to use it

1. Choose a water-based serum, gel, lotion, or cream. Hyaluronic acid serum is the usual pick — it mixes cleanly and carries well.
2. Add the drops for the percentage you want.
3. Cap and shake well.
4. Refrigerate. The blue glass blocks light; the cold keeps the blend stable.
5. Apply the finished blend to a clean, dry face and neck, morning and night. Moisturiser over the top, sunscreen in the morning.

Suitable for serums, moisturisers, lotions, and eye creams. Not suitable for oil-only blends — Matrixyl 3000 is water-soluble and will not incorporate into jojoba, argan, coconut, or rosehip.

Why buy the raw material instead of a finished serum

Two reasons.

You control the number. Most finished products naming this ingredient will not tell you how much is in them. When you blend it yourself, you know — because you counted it in.

It goes further. One 15 ml bottle blends about ten 1 oz serums at 5 percent. You are buying the active, not the water it usually comes packaged in.

If you would rather not mix anything, the 20% Matrixyl Collagen Serum is already blended and the percentage is on the label.

Blending with other peptides

Matrixyl 3000 is compatible with vitamin C, niacinamide, hyaluronic acid, Syn-Ake, Argireline, copper peptide, and Matrixyl Synthe-6.

Storage and shelf life

Refrigerate on arrival. 8 months from opening — the label carries an open-jar symbol with an 8 in it. Store the blended product cold too.

A note from the formulator

I have been formulating with this ingredient for most of my twenty years at the bench, and I sell it raw for the same reason I put percentages on every label: you should be able to find out what is in what you are using.

Blend it at 5 percent into a hyaluronic acid base and you have made a better serum than most of what is on the shelf, for a fraction of what it costs — and you will know exactly what is in it, because you put it there.

How will Matrixyl 3000 help my skin?

For an 8% concentration of Matrixyl 3000 in a 1-ounce skincare product, bulk base, or formula, add 72 drops.

Matrixyl® 3000 is an anti-wrinkle active used for lotion making. It is not intended to be used directly on the skin.

Matrixyl is a water-soluble gel that is easy to add to any formula. It is a colorless peptide that effortlessly blends. Adding to serums, lotions, moisturizers, toners, astringents, masks, foundations, or creams is easy. It is glycerin-based and has the consistency of a watery gel.

We recommend using a high concentration of the manufacturers' recommended usage rate of 8% for best results.

In a glass vessel, add Hyaluronic Acid. After that, add the peptides one by one. Blend with a hand blender until well mixed.
