Peptide Eye Creams for the Look of Crow's Feet, Puffiness and Dark Circles

Skin Perfection makes two peptide eye creams: Uplift Eye Cream, an all-in-one formula with more than a dozen actives, and Eye Bright Argireline Cream, a simpler formula that lists its peptide percentages on the label. Both come in a 0.5 oz airless bottle, both are paraben-free, and both are made for the look of crow's feet, under-eye puffiness, dark circles and crepey lids.

The skin around the eye is the thinnest on the face. In a 2025 ultrasound study of 45 women, the upper eyelid measured a median of 573.5 micrometers and the lower eyelid 807.5 micrometers, with the upper eyelid the thinnest site measured across 23 facial regions.

Which Eye Cream Is Right for You

Uplift Eye Cream: for several concerns at once

Choose Uplift Eye Cream if you want one product for lines, puffiness, dark circles and lid firmness. Its ingredient list includes Argireline, Snap-8, Matrixyl 3000, Pepha Tight, Syn-Coll, Haloxyl, Regu-Age, copper peptides, alpha arbutin and licorice, in a base of aloe, jojoba, evening primrose oil, hyaluronic acid and ceramide 3. The product page states more than 48% peptides. It does contain lavender and vanilla essential oil, so patch test first if your eye area reacts to fragrance.

Eye Bright Argireline Cream: for expression lines and a firmer-looking lid

Choose Eye Bright Argireline Cream if crow's feet and droopy-looking lids are your main concern and you like to know the numbers. The product page lists 25% Argireline, 15% Matrixyl 3000 and 8% Pepha Tight, plus Syn-Coll, Haloxyl, licorice, DMAE, GABA and ginseng. It is caffeine-free. Note that it contains wheat protein, so it is not a choice for anyone avoiding gluten.

What the Research Says About Peptides Around the Eyes

Argireline (acetyl hexapeptide-8) has been tested on the eye area in people. In a randomized, placebo-controlled study of 60 people who applied an Argireline cream or a placebo to the crow's feet area twice a day for 4 weeks, 48.9% of the Argireline group rated their lines as improved versus 0% with placebo, and silicone skin replicas showed lower roughness values in the Argireline group only. Both creams here contain Argireline. For layering tips, read How to Layer Haloxyl and GHK-Cu for Tired Eyes.

How to Use an Eye Cream

  1. Cleanse, then apply your face serum.
  2. Take a rice-grain amount per eye. Dot it from the inner corner outward along the orbital bone and up onto the lid.
  3. Pat with your ring finger. Do not rub or tug.
  4. Follow with moisturizer, and in the morning, sunscreen.
  5. Use morning and night. One 0.5 oz bottle is designed to last 1 to 2 months.

Using both: one eye cream is enough, but you can use Eye Bright in the morning and Uplift at night. Sensitive skin: patch test on the inner arm for 24 hours, then try a small amount near the outer corner of one eye before using it around both eyes. Frequently Asked Questions

Do eye creams really work?

An eye cream can improve the look of fine lines and dryness when it contains ingredients that have been studied for that use, such as peptides and humectants. In a 4-week placebo-controlled study, an Argireline cream applied to the crow's feet area improved the look of lines compared with placebo.

When should you start using eye cream?

There is no set age. A Cleveland Clinic dermatologist notes an eye cream can be useful in your 20s to keep the area moisturized and in later decades for the look of lines and crepiness. A good time to start is when you first notice lines that stay after your face relaxes.

Do you put eye cream on before or after moisturizer?

Apply eye cream after your serum and before your moisturizer. Layering from thinnest to thickest lets the eye cream sit closest to the skin. In the morning, sunscreen goes on last.

Can I use my face moisturizer around my eyes?

You can use a fragrance-free face moisturizer around the eyes for basic hydration. An eye cream adds a lighter texture made for thin eyelid skin and targeted actives such as Haloxyl for the look of dark circles or Pepha Tight for the look of droopy lids.

How long does it take to see results from a peptide eye cream?

Hydration shows right away. In the published Argireline study, changes in the look of crow's feet were measured at 4 weeks of twice-daily use, so plan on at least 4 to 8 weeks of consistent use before judging a peptide eye cream.
