Progeline is Trifluoroacetyl Tripeptide-2, used at 0.5 to 2% for the look of a firmer jawline, neck and jowl area. It is the peptide formulators reach for when the concern is slackness rather than lines.

This is a formulation ingredient, not a finished serum. Do not apply it undiluted.

What is in the bottle

INCI: Glycerin, Water (Aqua), Dextran, Trifluoroacetyl Tripeptide-2

Four ingredients. Glycerin is a humectant; dextran is a polysaccharide that gives the solution body and makes it blend cleanly. Both are carriers — the active is the tripeptide.

Vegan, paraben-free, fragrance-free, cruelty-free. 0.5 oz blue glass dropper bottle.

The science: Progeline and progerin

Progeline is a biomimetic peptide developed around progerin — a protein that accumulates in cells over time and is studied in connection with cellular ageing. The supplier's research programme is built on that relationship, which is why Progeline is grouped with the firming peptides rather than the line-focused ones.

In a topical formula, it is used for the appearance of firmer, better-defined contours along the jaw and neck.

The supplier's findings describe testing of the raw material. What you see depends on the concentration you use, your base, and how consistently you apply it.

How much to add

Recommended usage rate is 0.5 to 2%. Using our house rate of 9 drops per 1% per fluid ounce:

Concentration Into 1 oz Into 2 oz
0.5% 5 drops · 0.15 g 9 drops · 0.3 g
1% 9 drops · 0.3 g 18 drops · 0.6 g
2% 18 drops · 0.6 g 36 drops · 1.2 g

Where to use it

Progeline is used on the areas where skin looks slack rather than lined:

  • Jawline and jowls — the most common reason people buy it
  • Neck — works down from the jaw
  • Around the eyes — for the look of a lifted lid and firmer under-eye
  • Chest — an area that takes a lot of sun and gets forgotten

How to use it

  1. Choose a water-based serum, moisturiser or cream. Hyaluronic acid serum is the usual base — 18 drops into 1 oz gives you 2%.
  2. Cap and shake well, or stir it through if you are working into a cream.
  3. Refrigerate what you are not using.
  4. Apply morning and night to the jaw, neck and chest. Use upward strokes.

What to pair it with

For firmness, Progeline layers with Pepha-Tight, Relistase and Uplevity. All four are in the tightening group and work through different routes.

If your concern is expression lines rather than slackness, Argireline is the one you want instead.

Why buy it raw

Finished firming products naming Progeline rarely disclose how much is in them. Blend it yourself at a measured rate and you know — because you counted it in.

What is Progeline?
Progeline is a biomimetic peptide for a protein inhibitor called progerin. Progerin appears when there is a mutation in our genes due to aging. Changes in our skin due to aging cause wrinkles, sagging, loss of firmness, and less elasticity, especially around your jawline and jowls.
Why should I use Progeline?
Progeline encourages more collagen by supporting healthy skin, increases elasticity and firmness, reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, promotes skin-cell regeneration, tightens jowls on the jawline, reduces sagging, and your skin will appear more youthful.
Is Progeline Vegan?
Yes, The Firming Serum Booster with Progeline is vegan. The glycerin used is vegan.
Does this product need to be refrigerated?
We recommend placing our Firming Serum Booster with Progeline in your fridge to keep it fresh for the next time you need it.

Questions & Answers

Have a Question?

Ask a Question
  • I just heard of Progeline and found your website on a search for that. Just had a few questions before deciding to order. Is the Progeline product on your site pure Progeline? I’ve looked at several products on other sites and they quote glycerin, water, aloe, and all other watery type fillers. Are your products third-party tested for purity or ingredient accuracy? Can you use the Progeline by itself or does it have to be mixed in something?

Progeline is pure from the manufacturer. We do not add anything. The ingredients list is: INCI: Progeline (Glycerin (and) Water (and) Dextran (and) Trifluoroacetyl Tripeptide-2). The manufacturer does any applicable testing. Progeline is just the anti-aging ingredient. You will need to add Progeline to an existing product or formulate your own product.

  • Can you add 18 drops of Relistase and 9 drops of Progeline to a 0.5 fl. oz to Clinically Advanced Anti-Aging Moisturizer?

Yes, you can add any of the Firming Serum Boosters (or multiple boosters) to any anti-aging moisturizer.
