Anti-Aging Peptide Wrinkle-Relaxer Acetyl Hexapeptide-8, formerly called Acetyl Hexapeptide-3.
Reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles while visibly smoothing your complexion with Argireline® Peptide Solution Serum Booster or Acetyl Hexapeptide-8.
Argireline is Acetyl Hexapeptide-8, the peptide most associated with the look of expression lines — forehead creases, crow's feet, and the 11s between the brows. You blend it into your own base at 2 to 10%.
This is a formulation ingredient, not a finished serum. Do not apply it undiluted.
INCI: Water, Acetyl Hexapeptide-8
Two ingredients. That is the whole list.
Clear liquid. Water-soluble. Fragrance-free, paraben-free. 0.5 oz blue glass dropper bottle.
Argireline is a six amino acid sequence, first introduced in 2001 and one of the most studied cosmetic peptides in use.
The published research centres on the SNARE complex — the protein assembly that mediates signalling at the neuromuscular junction. Acetyl Hexapeptide-8 has been studied for its interaction with SNARE complex formation, which is why it is grouped with the expression-line peptides rather than the collagen-support ones.
The supplier's efficacy work reports improvement in the appearance of fine lines at a 2% concentration, with measured reductions in wrinkle depth and volume.
These findings are the manufacturer's, from their efficacy dossier, and are reproduced here under our licence agreement with them. They describe testing of the raw material, not of a finished product you blend at home.
Recommended usage rate is 2 to 10%. Using our house rate of 9 drops per 1% per fluid ounce:
| Concentration | Into 1 oz | Into 2 oz |
|---|---|---|
| 2% | 18 drops · 0.6 g | 36 drops · 1.2 g |
| 5% | 45 drops · 1.5 g | 90 drops · 3.0 g |
| 10% | 90 drops · 3.0 g | 180 drops · 6.0 g |

Argireline is formulated for the lines that come from movement rather than sun or slack — the ones that deepen because your face makes the same shapes every day.
For firmness across the whole face rather than specific lines, Matrixyl 3000 is the one to reach for instead. They layer well together.
Finished products naming this ingredient rarely tell you how much is in them, and it is usually less than you would choose. Blend it yourself and the number is yours — because you counted the drops in.
One 0.5 oz bottle blends several ounces of finished serum, depending on the percentage you pick.
Argireline layers with Snap-8, Syn-Ake and Inyline. Each works on the look of expression lines through a different route, so combining them is not doubling up on the same thing. Keep the combined total sensible — the base still has to be mostly base.

How do I add this to a 1.7 ounce moisturizer?
For a 10% concentration added to a 1-ounce of a base, you would need to add 1 1/2 teaspoons plus 11 drops.
Can I add Argireline to Jojoba oil?
Argireline is a water-based anti-aging peptide. It can be added to our Ultra Hyaluronic Acid or another serum base. It should not be added to an oil-based product as water can't combine with oil unless an emulsifier is used.
Is this the same as Acetyl Hexapeptide 3?
Acetyl Hexapeptide-3 is an old INCI name. Argireline now is called Acetyl Hexapeptide-8.
I am making a DIY serum. What other ingredients should I use with Argireline?
Ask your self what your goals are. If you are looking to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and want to make a DIY powerhouse serum, add Snap-8, Inyline, and Syn-Ake. If you want to firm a sagging jawline, add Uplevity, Pepha Tight, and Relistase. For more volume and supple skin, consider Hyaluronic Acid and Syn-Coll. How does this compare to the Ordinary 10% Argireline Solution?
The Argireline Peptide Serum Booster needs to be added to any skincare product, base, or formulation.
You can easily create a clean beauty product by adding a 10% concentration (the same that the Ordinary Solution uses) to a base of Hyaluronic Acid. You will make a formula that has the same 10% concentration as the Ordinary but without additional chemical additives or preservatives such as Phenoxyethanol.

Can I use Argireline with Vitamin C?
Argireline Peptide is compatible with many different ingredients including Vitamin C.
I make a facial moisturizer. It is lotion/moisturizer consistency. The only two ingredients are tallow (rendered beef fat) and jojoba oil. Since this is moisturizer consistency can it be mixed in? It would be able to be uniformly mixed.
Yes, the Argireline Peptide Serum Booster can be added to your moisturizer! We recommend using a 10% concentration at the end of formulation.
What would be similar to this (natural botox like effect) that can be used in a serum that is completely made with oils and no water?
Unfortunately, there are none. Peptides are "hydrophilic" or water-loving. Your best bet is to use an emulsifier to incorporate the peptides or add to a base of Hyaluronic Acid.
You can find some plant extracts that are oil-soluble however, they will have water in them and an emulsifier.
Can I just use pretty much all of the serums together to get all effects, or do some not go with others?
Yes, you can combine multiple Serum Boosters together. There is no right or wrong number. Just make sure that you are not using Copper Peptide with Vitamin C.
Can this be mixed with just filtered water? I would make only 4-5 days of Argireline-water solution at a time and keep in the fridge to prevent any microbial issues. Also, how long should Argireline ideally be allowed to sit and absorb into skin before applying other products (such as sunscreen) on top?
Yes, you can use Argireline Peptide with water.
You can apply additional products, including sunscreen, as soon as the Argireline solution is dry.
Can Argireline Acetyl Hexapeptide 8 be used alone prior to putting on niacinamide & hyaluronic serum?
Argireline is an anti-aging ingredient and needs to be mixed prior to use. You can add it to your Niacinamide and Hyaluronic Acid Serum to give it a boost.
